Given talks about BP's contract renewal - it's interesting that in the entire history of kpop only THREE GG have ever renewed their contracts (1 Viewer)

To my knowledge (obviously I could be wrong) every other GG has ever disbanded or had some members not renew with the same company

Red Velvet renewed they have extra members but all og member resigned.

I was looking into it and found out that Shinee is supposedly the only group to renew twice without other members leaving the company
It's a little sad how few groups are on these lists of renewing.

Its not like she made it a secret of her plans everyone was clearly on board.... until they weren't.

Red Velvet is a bit ambiguous. I believe it's unknown whether they signed a 10 year or a 7 year contract. If it was 10 year then they'd still be under the initial contract.

I would find it strange if the company didn't put out any information about their renewal.

But Dreamcatcher was originally another group with only 5 members, they did not lose members, but the entire identiy of the group changed

I remember seing them on a radio show where people could call in and would be asked questions to win something. One of them was asked how many members SNSD has... and he said 9. And all the members were like awww no sorry you dummy, SNSD is 8

when I looked into this it TVXQ's lawsuit ended in 2012 and I believe that some of the RV members might have actually had the previous 10 year contract and not the newer 7 year ones (or at least that's what I assume given the lack of any form of news about their renewal)

The group was named Minx, and that's how I view it too. Basically just a new group that happened to have 5 of the members from a previous group. No one would view Why Did You Come To My Home as a predebut song, much less Dreamcatchers debut.
