Have you been satisfied or disappointed with the 2020 releases? (1 Viewer)

I actually made a thread like this last year, but I decided to make another for the releases of 2020. Obviously we're not that far into the year, considering it's only May, but I just wanted to know if you guys liked or disliked the releases so far this year. As for me, I've disliked quite a lot of releases this year (same as last year). Even from my own faves. Heck I didn't even like MOTS7 that much and I was so excited for it. I don't know why but it just seems like kpop has been kind lacking(?) this year for me. Of course I still had some favorites though such as Hold, Happy, and Wannabe.

Anyways, how much do you like the kpop releases from this year?

I think they were good but I will admit that a good amount of them had to grow on me before I could say I enjoyed them

Speaking of wannabe... it's cute but I still wish ting ting ting was the single

I've been pretty satisfied. Nothing I really hate came out. I don't listen to MOTS7 that much, same with Obsession, but they're still good and I wasn't disappointed.

I only like some songs at the beginning but then it becomes boring. all of the songs released this year were forgettable, Maybe just Itzy wannabe that I kept on repeat.

last year I only liked KNK sunset, got7 calling my name, Exo obsession, Taemin Want. the rest were forgettable as well.

so far i haven't been disappointed with most releases! MOTS7 was a bit... iffy overall, but most releases such as hold, good guy, and dumhdurum have been on repeat for me 🙈

no. apink are really the only ones who actually served something good this year. I liked wannabe but it was a grower. I really was disappointed with mots7, there were a few songs I liked but none of them stuck around which is sad because I really enjoy the music bts makes. I'm not even really one of the stans who talks about how everything went downhill after DNA considering my favorite album is love yourself tear but mots7 was just mediocre for me. I might have to make an album review thread hmmm but yeah suho had a solo I guess but I hate ballads. I hate hate hate ballads. especially ones from sm. loona... so what... okay um so I kinda just block that out of my mind, bsides were good but so what was not. the performances were amazing though. ikon is ikon and winner is winner. both groups rarely release interesting music.

I can't even really remember any other groups coming back so I guess your right, nothing was very impactful this year.

hopefully, blackpink will save this year. even if the song is shit, the eras themselves are always iconic.

i'm going to go ahead and disagree with most of you guys lol
ggs have DELIVERED so far this year, so as a gg stan i've been very satisfied - the only disappointments i've had are line distributions *cough* everglow *cough* (g)i-dle *cough*
as for bgs, i have been a little underwhelmed, but in my opinion i usually always find bgs kinda more underwhelming *states for the hundredth time on this forum that i'm a gg stan* - i really actually liked nct dream's ridin and winner's hold, and merely liked bts on (black swan was better tho) and got7's comeback was nice as well, but overall, yes, underwhelming (but i'm probably biased lol)

Pretty satified I think. Iz*one, loona, NCT127, dreamcatcher and OMG they all released amazing albums imo.
It's rare that I like a got7 title track but this time it was really solid. There's also winner, apink, everglow and cherry bullet I really liked their songs.
I was the most disappointed in bts, gidle and itzy's.
I can't wait for chungha's full album and blackpink and twice comeback!!

I only really pay attention to my bias groups nowadays, but from them I’ve been happy. Day6 are coming back next week and Baekhyun at the end of the month so I’ll be anticipating those

first of all i can't believe it's may already... like wasn't it just december or something a few days ago? (not that i'm complaining, i would never ever ask for it to be december again). anyway back to the topic, i feel like at this moment of the year in 2019 i was much more satisfied with the releases than i'm in 2020 but it's not that bad when i think about it. even though i'm a girl group stan, my favourite songs this year were by boy groups, by that i mean answer by ateez, a song written easily by oneus and howling by victon. there weren't any huge disappointments for me tbh, or maybe i just forgot about them at this point.
