If yes, what's the deal? A friend of mine has been obsessed with it lately, and I'm not sure I quite "get" the appeal.

yes omg so many people i know are madly obsessed with pickleball and i don't understand the deal with it. i tried playing a couple times

I had to google it to know what it even looked like. To me it seems invented by some guys who were playing a double game of pingpong and randomly thought it would be funny to hit a plastic toy ball of a cat and suddenly came up with it

Ngl it looks very odd, no idea why that exists when there is tennis.

never played it but watched a couple of events and information on it

basically it's on a much smaller court than tennis like you can fit 2/3 pickleball courts on a tennis court so it allows more games and thus more money and more participants

it is smaller so less running required compared to tennis so it's better for the casual fan
