I stole this idea from reddit where they were talking about American music, with albums where the title was, say, a super pop number, but everything else was a ballad (cough Rose's APT vs. everything else on Rosie).

It's an interesting question to get all excited for one thing and then be like "what is this?" when you can actually hear it.

I completely blocked out that's what happened because the actual song was so... um, distinct.

I'm going to second Itzy. Bless them, I love them so much but sometimes their trailers are just better than the actual title tracks. To make a specific example this part of the 'Girls Will Be Girls' trailer was so good but the actual title track ended up being my least liked Itzy TT. I actually turned that portion of the trailer into an mp3 and listened to it much more than I ever listened to GWBG.

Part of me understands that a song in that style wouldn't really be K-Pop or the concept that they're going for but a man can dream, right? While I digress I've always felt that Itzy have more potential than they're allowed to show, you can often hear them nail the vocals in covers way better than they do in most of their own songs because they pick cover songs that actually suit their voices.

Obviously not hating on my ult-group - when they nail it they really nail it but there's some misses in there and I blame the management and not the members for forcing their style. It's also interesting to note that their Japanese TTs never suffer from this issue, I don't know if their Japanese comebacks are managed by different people or if it's just the different concept which, imo, is just the same as what they originally had in Korea before they tried to chase the market. (up until and including Loco) To me 'Rock & Roll' felt like traveling back in time and the song just made me smile.

Omg, you're right! With all their teasers, I kept thinking jazz bar, which still would have been lighter than main DC, but not out of bounds, and then we got tropical synth.

I read somewhere that they finished the MV but the company stopped the release because the video was too obscene, even pornographic. That's what the rumours said.

Some K-Pop fans think there's only the teaser. That's not entirely true, there's also a 'behind the scene' clip (by the way, I like the song's instrumentation).



My (not entirely logical) theory is that the company wanted to release the MV. But in the end, the producers were too concerned that they may cross a line with an adult-themed fairy concept or/and could get in legal trouble with Disney.
