How egotistical.

Is kpop the only form of entertainment that hands out fanclub names for a group that hasn't even released one song yet?

How does aespa even have fans yet?

Why not wait and see if you like their music first?

hmmm I’ve personally been waiting for smngg since late sr16g
I think I’ve seen enough of her content, as well as content for karina, for me to stan them: from predebut sruff, to the shining star ost, to the highlight reels
part of it is def emotional attachment, but since we know for a fact that sm has been preparing for their debut for at least 6-7 months now, I doubt they would slap some generic song for the girls’ debut

Actually it does. Took f(x) 7 years to get a fanclub name. They dropped three of the best albums of all time and still had to wait.

well, for me personally, i've been waiting a very long time for this group to debut. i've been following ningning since smrookies days. i'm not a company stan, but sm's music production style usually is my cup of tea and their groups are immensely talented, especially vocally. i'm in love with giselle's rap and ningning's vocals especially. most groups from large companies have predebut fans.

I agree that whatever the fuck happened with f(x)’s management was stupid, but putting that anger out on aespa is :///
if anything, it continues the expectation that SM ggs should continue to get poorly promoted

Fascinating. I feel the same about SuperM not having a fandom name but it still doesn't affect me or you whether aespa has fans. Your anger is misplaced.

Yeah, i think mr boogie's rage/anger/disappointment here is misaimed.

f(x) n Aespa's treatment/reception rlly hv nothing to do with each other. Even tho Irene is my bias now, i wont hate Aespa if smh history(in any way) repeats itself.

But let ur rant out mr boogie, i understand how ur feeling, just dont aim it at Aespa.

I think the times have simply changed. Aespa is the first SM group to actually get a fandom name at debut. EXO got theirs 2 years after debut which was the fastest until NCT debuted and got their fandom name a year after debut. Obviously SM girl groups don't have it as good since RV go their fandom name 3 years after debut and f(x) 7 but fandom name at debut seems like a requirement now. All these new gen groups have been releasing their fandom names upon debut or only months later. It seems to be an expectation these days. I don't think it means anything though. NCT got their fandom name a year earlier than EXO but their success wasn't even comparable to EXO at the time they got it. So getting it faster than another group doesn't really mean anything. Fandom name is simply part of the debut package these days.

I feel like if you stay angry, you'll misjudge their song when they debut... lol. but seriously I do get your point.. As far as I'm concerned if a group is a part of a reality show about forming that group [like Stray Kids] or just releases a concept a week or so before their release it means nothing... The group doesn't exist [in my opinion] until the song/songs come out. What if I became a fan prior to their debut and then I hate their song.. I would be the one with egg on my face.

They're just kids, let em have their moment, and their fans, and their early fandom name. Things have changed, and I think that's a good thing. SM's got a shit track record for how they've treated their idols, we all know that. And I would never go as far as to say they've "changed", but when we see progress shouldn't we acknowledge that as a good thing? Rather than being upset that these new rookies were a little less screwed over than others in the past?(so far....that we know of)
And if ppl wanna get hyped up and excited about a new group, whats so wrong with that? Its 2020, everything sucks right now. Let people have their harmless fun and anticipation for something new.
