we both live in the US lol.
wait really? apparently my family never got the memo![]()
It might be different in USA and maybe in different states, i live in Finland and it's sth that has become more of norm now that i'm adult and it has been against law a while. It's pretty much no no for any kind, you can't pull your childs hair, slap them, whip them, at most u can hold them still that's it. Not everyone follows it, but there has been some lawsuits about it where child has gotten couple hundred euros for pain from their parent after they physically punished the child and the child called cops. You can physically punish your kids in U.S you just can’t go overboard with it
Research says hitting your children is entirely detrimental to their development, can cause issues later in life, and basically doesn't teach them anything. Hitting a child is actually one of the worst ways to punish because it can lead them to act out more or see physical abuse as a way to deal with problems.actually it kinda does. it's like training a dog, but I guess harsher? if you do something wrong, you get punished, so then you don't do that again. at least that's how I saw it.
The first bit of this statement I fully agree with, however dogs actually have incredible memories and understand quickly...as long as the handler working with them is knowledgable and patient. That's why you should never abuse a dog, because they will remember. You aren't supposed to use violence to train dog either.
I don't think either dog nor child learns from it. They will avoid the behavior most times, but they likely won't understand why they did sth wrong and it will damage their relationship with the parent/owner. Especially for dogs it's bad cause dog have short term memory and easily misunderstand.
