Same. XD They scare me.

I dont know what goes in there, I dont want it to break or have to starve if the electricity goes off and I'd be afraid of water falling on it stoves are just easier, I know them better, I trust them more

I use jasmine and I boil it

also rotate it with a wooden spoon
so it doesn't get stuck on the bottom

I use basmati and jasmine

There are a few different methods to cooking plain rice.
So I'm assuming you use a rice cooker to make rice.

Rice cooker. I rinse, then do a ~20 minute soak, and rinse again, then follow the lines on the rice cooker for how much water to add relative to the rice. I got a simple rice cooker that's just a single button press for on and it auto-shuts off when done.

rice and water in the rice cooker. no salt. brown rice, though we cook basmati when guests are over. we used to use a pressure cooker for rice, i think we stopped after we switched to brown rice (it got too messy if my memory serves me right)

us indians (like me, nina, and harmony) would more often than not be caught boiling it or using a pressure cooker i honestly don't know a lot of people who use rice cooker

and yeah some indians are very serious about rice! i'm bengali and us bengalis are pretty much as serious about rice as a lot of east asians. same goes for a lot of indians from other coastal states, or from the other eastern regions. it's a different story in the north (where i live) where most people prefer wheat
