I genuinely see the end of Twitter coming. He wants to charge users to have a verified checkmark and claims it'll reduce spam/scammers.... I genuinely think the opposite will happen.

He also fired a bunch of executives, and it's a good thing they'll get a lot of money as settlement, but those people had jobs....

Me too. Interesting how the creator of Twitter has now created bluesky. I signed up to try the beta when available... Seems like they are getting prepared to launch at the right time :o

The blood will not stop there. He will likely term 1/2 to 2/3's of the company. he is an engineer and by all accounts there is alot of fat. My impression he wants a company of coders run by coders with a support staff as required. This is the definition of a hostile takeover.

blue checks already pay 4.99 i think it is, he is proposing to up the price i have seen 8- 20 a month adjusted for global location.

Uh, yeah actually I read yesterday that many people were fired and everyone is being forced to work in the office. And anyone not near an actual Twitter office must relocate in 60 days. I don't use social media, so it doesn't affect me much, but I think that's messed up.

I muted the phrase ‘Elon musk’ on my Twitter because my feed was filling up with it, and I don’t care enough to read about it nonstop. If it does go to crap, imagine what else that $44b could have been spent on instead 💀

i don't use social media so idgaf about twitter in itself i only feel bad for the employes who'll be badly affected by this

I only use Twitter for news about my faves but even then I prefer Instagram where it's possible so it doesn't bother me
