Not really. I’ve always stanned more male groups than female, but I still listen to plenty of female group/solo songs.

I think what’s surprised me since I first discovered Kpop is the variety that’s developed within my stan list.

Not really. I was always more of a bg stan but I really love songs from 2nd gen girlgroups. I used to be hella multistan when I was younger but now I prefer fully stanning 1 or 2 groups and casually stan others. I'm too old and busy for multistanning, it's too much lol

I stanned mostly 2nd gen early 3rd gen groups only. Now a bit more diversified. And plus when I first started to like k-pop I was only listening to bg... to the point where when this exchange student from my class wrote an essay on gg k-pop media platforms the only gg I could remember were 2NE1 SNSD... That was a dark day

At first I only liked bgs. To the point where I unfortunately used to send hate to girl groups back in like 2013 because I stupidly though bgs were superior. They aren't. Both are amazing. I stan mainly girl groups now, but I still have a place in my heart for my boys.

I also used to listen to mainly R&B. Now I listen to what some people call "noise". I like the dance-pop, EDM, party music. I'm also a lover of the retro sound! Basically anything except rap/R&B

When I first got into Kpop (During the 2nd Gen), I was a girl group stan (SNSD, f(x), After School, T-ARA, 4Minute)

What's changed since then, is the fact that I mostly listen to female soloists now (Taeyeon, IU, Younha, Baek Yerin, Sejeong, etc) and the only girl group that I stan now is Red Velvet, whilst I also like groups such as Dreamcatcher, aespa, (G) IDLE and Blackpink.

Oh, and I also now listen to an artist that has a male vocalist..... AKMU!

I used to listen and follow bgs a lot more, but nowadays since I'm less into the genre, it's a lot easier to find gg music. I don't know if that's just because ggs have recently upped their game though.
