are you brave enough to give up your school / work if you are feeling unhappy? are you brave enough to fulfil your dreams?
I feel like I am the last of the weird species who are driven by reason more so than by feelings. I have watched tons of inspirational youtubers about how they have glowed up, given up jobs they hate, moved to the countries they have always wanted to and it usually works out for them, but somehow I am old enough to know that this fairy tale story is not always what happens in life and I´m seriously such a loser that I will probably never give up the job I hate and the place I hate to be completely happy and I know it, but what about you? how do you do it? where do you find that courage?

it´s just that losing can cost you everything and that is what really creeps me out

Extremely. I've seen those videos, but I have no desire to do what they're doing.

My job gets stressful sometimes, as was school, but I'm glad I enjoy it.

This is exactly what I could write about myself. Sadly. I can be unhappy to the point that I feel unwell both mentally and physically and I KNOW it's not okay, this is not how things should be, but still. I have big dreams and I have many plans, but I let myself suffer in all aspects of my life. I'm kinda afraid of changes now, which is so strange even to myself, because I wasn't like that before. I was brave, wild and never afraid of challenges in life. Now, anxiety is my friend and I do nothing when things are unhealthy to me. I want my old self back. And I want a better life.

high five on that. but I hope for your sake, you will find your courage. I am sure that once you set your mind to it and once you see the path clearly, you will be able to do it. because unlike me, you have at least had that courage in you. And see, you already know that everything in your life was someone else's choice and that it's hard to you to change things in your life, even if you wish to do it. Everything starts with a recognition. Never underestimate yourself and don't think that you will never find the strenght to change things, pls!

I think happiness is important but it’s difficult to think of your own happiness first. It’s definitely a constant battle in my opinion.

Yes, it really is, and I try to keep myself happy.
But life isn’t the easiest at times, and that sets me back a lot.
I was especially unhappy a few months ago, and I had to make a big change that I was very hesitant and wouldn’t usually do in order to keep myself sane and happy. It’s the best change I ever made and while at times I’m not always generally happy or relaxed I try to stay positive and keep myself upbeat.

You are capable of it. People are not the same and what is easy for someone, is so hard to someone else. You already know that you need changes into your life. Try to tell yourself everyday what you want to change, think about how could you change, what will be the impact on your life. You don't need to do it fast, take your time and prepare mentally as much as you need.

that´s all cute and all, but I dunno who is gonna pay my rent and pay for my food if it doesn´t work out? I feel a lot of people might have that support that if things don´t work out for them, there are people to support them financially. but my parents cannot afford that at al and there is no one else in my life who would do that. the practical part just sucks here.

Yes, it sucks and you are 100% right on this. It's easy to do it if you have support. But you must believe that life will be better for you. That hope is the only one which keeps me moving forward.

I wouldn't go as far as to leave my job and follow my dreams.

But i try to make my work place as bearable for me as possible.

I don't really like working, but at the same time I can make it feel simple instead of a nightmare.

It depends a lot though, some workplaces really can be very toxic, that's when its better to just run from it.

that is true. I also do try to make my environment better. I mean, I don´t see myself quitting for the practical reasons and honestly it is not like I HATE my job, I just feel like my heart is really not there, I am missing the drive, I am missing the feeling of accomplishment. frankly, I feel like I suck at it :D. but also, that´s life so I am just trying to do my best though it is just sometimes so damn exhausting.

Well, I'm considering the options I have rn, if I find an opportunity for something better I might try it.
