and in the video he discusses a couple who is dating for 6 years but the mans won't tie the knot.

i think 6 years is a while. and imagine dating someone for 10 like ur basically married atp.

if my bf isn't on one knee by 2027 we're gonna have issues!!!:ankha:

ohhh... I think that would vary from couple to couple ig.

Obviously doing it too soon like a week or so wouldn't be good, but I think whenever both parties feel comfortable tying the knot would be best in most cases.

(sorry that's a very wish washy answer, but yk, it's hard to put like exact numbers when situations and people vary...)

Cause you don't wanna rush into things but at the same time if it's too long, hurry up and tie the knot (if thats what the couple wants ofc)

Marriage doesn't interest me. I guess, if I find someone I really love who it's very important to him or we need it for, idk, health insurance or something, I guess, but I'm not that inclined to sign a contract for funsies.

There are different ways to do this, I think. If you know you don't want marriage, I think you should tell your partner in the beginning.

If you do, you should at least have a conversation about it by the 3rd year of dating. It's better than not saying anything and wondering if your partner wants to get married in the first place.

And then get married when it's right. There could be factors as to why people are waiting long. Finances, education, age, etc. As long as there is a seriousness about marriage, and the conversation and/or engagement has happened, I think the act should take place when both feel ready.

I've been in a lot of different bubbles, so I think whatever both partners feel comfortable with is completely fine. For example, I only date to marry and I'd feel completely comfortable getting married after less than a year with a future partner with no qualms.

This video is a good example of the Orthodox Jewish marriage bubble

I think as long as you have a firm pre-nuptial agreement that basically states what your expectations are going into the marriage and what your expectations are if the marriage ends then you can avoid the nasty bits of divorce. I just think a lot of people date with their preferences and not their core values so 5-10 years into the marriage you realised you're sleeping next to a stranger and that build resentment.
