I like jrpgs, and they can famously have some slow starts, but my latest game, I'm 6 hours into and still not enjoying it. There are so. many. cutscenes. I wish it would get out of its own way and let me play the dang thing.
I think I might be in that 5-10 hour range for long games, but puzzle games or games where it's immediately obvious what the gist is (e.g. farming sims or whatever), if I don't like it basically immediately, I nope out. It shouldn't take 5+ hours for a puzzle game to get good.
