Piggybacking off my other thread becaus I’m curious and need a korean post
Have you learned about Koreas history? I only know a tiny bit, mostly about Hangul and it’s creation.

I just know a little bit.

Well... I know that the Korean War started in 1950 and ended in 1953. (interestingly, there are people in my country and Denmark, that believe it started in 1949, because a famous Danish song said: "It was in 1949 or somewhere around there, that there was a war in Korea.")

Also, that it was occupied by Japan until 1945.

I also know that there was this Gwangju Massacre in 1980. (I learned a bit about it because of SPEED's "That's My Fault" and "It's Over" music videos.)

Also that in 1988, there was the Olympics in Seoul.

i know about some things like the korean war and creation of hangul from watching random youtube videos but it's not like i ever did any research of my own, so i'd say i'm not very familiar with korea's history

I still don't know a LOT but I know a decent amount considering I took classes on some parts of it's history mostly the late 1900s leading to their independence

vaguely post-krn war and the subsequent republics, a bit on the jpn invasion; a fair bit from journals about the hong kong film syndrome lol

Mostly in scope and impact.
not so much names or leaders ect.

some have it as the start of the post ww2 proxy war era with the CCP/and CCCP clients vs the west/us clients. ( the start is fluid with the colonial mistakes of SEA.)
