So I blabbed a ton about this within
this thing so you can find the bits if you want I guess
but I was thinking to decentralize voting using cryptocurrency (eyeah I can already hear you groaning Ik I'm groaning at how badly ppl abused crypto)
but basically how crypto works is that it can track and store information without having any one computer running its program having full control and therefore cannot change things once the information is stored. so that works well for keeping track of money but also any other thing.
Basically what happened with NFT's is that they figured out how to store any ole sht on there rather than just money numbers. Even operational code. (gonna use this fact to build a decentralized server to host all of this shiznits)
So basically everyone downloads an app to participate in voting
each person can do the normal stuff of voting 10 times for free each day
but then also also why not allow people to buy more votes using the app's cryptocurrency system!
those who downloaded the app onto sufficiently strong devices (desktops and whatnot) can "mine" the blockchain (fancyspeak for pitching in to verify information and getting rewarded with crypto) for crypto coins to spend extra. (for those not tracking, basically votes are being verified across consumers' devices that the company has no access to. and consumers who pitched in get rewarded)
those who cannot mine the coin can also buy coins using credit card or spam-watching ads I guess.
if they really wanted to I guess companies can introduce bulk discounts in the form of vip-passes or smsht to give perks like weekly coin reward or personalized video clips recorded by contestant of choice. plus global minor discount for all merch to sucker in some older folk.
also coins can be used to buy merch associated with individual contestants to give the contestants a kickback (however small that may be after the survival show and signing companies take their share)
Initial investment from investors will be used to prop up the value of the cryptocurrency and second round investment will actually fund the show.
to make this actually worth it to operate, they'll need to list the coin on an exchange as well so it can be tied to real world currency ( also ppl with extra crypto can sell it there an get some cash mebbe ) as well as plans to continue doing show after show. there's going to be tons of supergroups from this...
