For a while digitals have been considered more important in most rankings however with the scarcity of groups who actually chart remotely well nowadays are physical sales a better metric for a group ranking? ​

depends if we are talking popularity - views (I´d say)
or quality - how to put that ... talent ? :D

but we all know what is this business about :D. I´d still say the digital sales because that is what brings companies more money.
