There's definitely an element of that but I also think their age is playing a part in the judge trying to protect them to a degree like the judge seems to be probing them on Min Heejin misleading them and then suggesting they at least explore the possibility of settling as if they conclude Ador is in the right there won't be any protecting them in the final verdict

I always thought that if they changed tactics and claimed MHJ mislead them could they still go after ADOR since MHJ was an employee of ADOR and aren't like companies responsible for the actions of their employees?

I think they'd have to basically start again to do that because they can only use things that were in their list of demands which MHJ becoming CEO again was one of them so it'd be a total 180 on their stance. They'd also have to drag Min Heejin into a lawsuit with Ador and sue the pair of them together so for that to happen they'd have to actually believe Min Heejin misled them which I don't think they're anywhere close to that in reality.

Their lawyers have shown they'd prefer heavily if their clients with both Min Heejin and NewJeans would stop talking so I'd imagine they see where this is going but if they want to continue down this path then the lawyers can only work out how to best navigate down this bottomless pit of a ride they're on.

I did hear about the investors thing too a while ago so it tracks and I have also heard Danielle said in texts to Min Heejin that she didn't really know what was said and just went along with it so at this point it's suspect how much they actually don't know

Appellate court dismisses NewJeans appeal on ADOR injunction

A Seoul appellate court on Tuesday dismissed an appeal by the members of K-pop girl group NewJeans, effectively reaffirming a ban on the group pursuing any independent activities outside of their agency, ADOR.

The ruling upholds a previous injunction issued by the Seoul Central District Court in March, which barred the five members from entering endorsement deals or performing under the group’s name without ADOR’s involvement. The injunction recognized the label's exclusive rights as the group's management agency under parent company HYBE.

“Even after reviewing the arguments and supporting evidence reiterated by the respondents, the original injunction remains valid,” the court said at the time, upon which the members then appealed to the high court.

Back in March, the Seoul Central District Court granted an injunction filed by ADOR to ban NewJeans from independently entering endorsement deals or performing under the group's name, recognizing the agency's right to retain its status as the group's management agency.

The members had declared their contracts with ADOR terminated last November, claiming that the label had violated their exclusive contracts and had since been pursuing independent activities. However, the court’s injunction in favor of ADOR effectively barred such activities.

Separately, a civil suit filed by ADOR seeking confirmation that its exclusive contracts with the members remain valid is ongoing in its first trial.

NewJeans’ bid for independent activities rejected again as court dismisses appeal

NewJeans’ attempt to pursue independent activities without their agency ADOR has been completely blocked following a second court ruling in favor of the label.

According to a report by SPOTV News on June 17, the 25-2 Civil Division of the Seoul High Court dismissed the injunction appeal filed by the members of NewJeans earlier that day.

Previously, the Seoul Central District Court fully accepted ADOR’s request for an injunction, which sought to maintain its status as the group’s management agency and to prohibit the members from signing advertising contracts independently. The court ruled in favor of ADOR, and in response, the NewJeans members objected to the decision. When their objection was denied, they immediately filed an appeal.

However, the appellate court has now also sided with ADOR. As a result, NewJeans cannot carry out any independent activities without the company’s involvement.

Despite the legal setbacks, NewJeans has made it clear that they do not intend to return to ADOR. During the second hearing of ADOR’s lawsuit to confirm the validity of the group’s exclusive contract, the members stated, "The trust between us has completely collapsed. We have crossed a river of no return," indicating that reconciliation is highly unlikely.

Seoul High Court rejects NewJeans' plea for independent activities

The NewJeans members requested that they be allowed to carry out independent activities, regardless of the entertainment agency ADOR, but the Seoul High Court rejected this on the 17th. Previously, the Seoul Central District Court made the same decision in April.

NewJeans is engaged in a legal dispute with their agency, ADOR. In March, the Central District Court accepted an injunction filed by ADOR against the five members of NewJeans, prohibiting them from activities such as maintaining their status with the agency and entering into advertising contracts. The ruling was based on the premise that "the NewJeans members are affiliated with ADOR, so they should not engage in independent activities."

In response to this injunction, the ADOR members filed an objection with the Central District Court, but it was dismissed in April. They subsequently filed another objection with the Seoul High Court, only to receive another dismissal that day. The Seoul High Court's Civil Division 25-2 (Director General Hwang Byeong-ha, Jeong Jong-gwan, Lee Gyun-yong) stated, "Even considering the NewJeans members' claims and evidence, we find the injunction decision (prohibiting independent activities) to be justified." If the NewJeans members disagree with the Seoul High Court's decision, they will appeal to the Supreme Court.

Meanwhile, the NewJeans members were also notified on the 30th of last month by the Central District Court that they must pay 1 billion won each every time they engage in independent activities.

Yeah I don't expect them to go back as Danielle was out clubbing so they're obviously not very worried about their own careers even if anyone with a brain can see that this is only going one way and that way is getting further away from them than it is closer to them

Well yesterday Danielle attended a fashion event but with Ador staff so I think they're closer to compromising now that their option is pretty openly sit on the sidelines until they get a win or Hybe ruins them in court
