As a black woman I have to say....WE DON'T OWN BRAIDS!!!! Really we don't and to subconsciously assume that is to actually stereotype yourself.

Even if it was box braids, you can't and shouldn't segregate fashion, art forms, objects, etc etc to specific groups. It's impossible and actually racist/prejudice. If we're being serious let's track down the region or ethnic group(s) in Africa who first invented box braids and see if "black people" from other ethnic groups are too privileged to wear them. Box braids are also native to Scandinavian cultures as well y'all.
