Idk sensitive or not so just in case :nekosweat: also some people are squeamish unlike me

So last week Saturday, I cut my big toe pretty badly:wimwim: Between 1 and 2 cm wide (yes almost the entire toe width) close to the top on the bottom of the foot and (ofc) there was a lot of blood

To make things better, I was soaked in cold clothes at the time

And I was going to/tryna take a shower so I had to just wash it off with the shower while balancing on one leg and I was really worried about it getting infected, so I had
  1. a bandaid
  2. a cloth tied tightly around it because the bandaid wouldn't stay on cause I was WET (when I took that cloth off later it had blood on it too so I threw it away)
  3. sarene wrap or however you spell it wrapped around it and tied with a rubber band so I could actually take a shower without worrying about it getting infected

Later I took off the rubber band and plastic because it was restricting the blood flow and really uncomfortable at night
:runaway:

After a few days, when I was going to change the band aid, I saw that it was actually deeper than I thought as well, and the only reason it stopped bleeding was probably because the rubber band functioned as a tourniquet (ty 9th grade health/driver's ed being mandatory in california, I know what that is (my mom was the one who went and got me the rubber band and sarene wrap tho) rest would be TMI/probably upsetting for squeamish people so in spoiler
so like it didn't "dry" or scab ... it was like "sealed together because of the blood" and being compressed and blood flow restricted, but there was blood pooled underneath to an extent you could see how deep, it would've needed stiches normally
but anyways I was like "wow this'll leave a cool scar" because I'm not squeamish at all
:cold_doge:

I took a picture and sent it to my parents, ofc I'm not showing here

but I was worried because of the way it stopped bleeding being very unnatural, that it would open again and all and so put a bandaid again ofc

Honestly it seemed like something to get looked at anyway but because I was going to take a shower and already at risk of getting a cold AND infection so couldn't right away, but it was worse than I thought

anyways after I changed the band aid I thought it was fine like it didn't hurt, I could walk pretty normal after a couple days, was even running around a bit (which I shouldn't have done tbh ... I can blame my bad decisions)

but on Friday I went to the gastroenterologist again (after going to the doctor the day before) and I had to do so much walking to get to that department and back from the main entrance etc. and I've been staying inside the house for my health (except going to the doctor the Thursday morning before I got injured, after arriving home Thursday early morning (like 1 am California time, 4 am EST where I came from), not walking much at a stretch except to get stuff like food, notebooks, brush my teeth, etc. and supposed to be bed ridden

and then on Friday it started hurting again, and I had to limp again, probably because of walking so much in the medical center there:nekosweat:

and as my mom pointed out, I was wearing shoes the whole time too, I hadn't since I got injured (idk how relateable this is to a lot of you but I never wear "shoes" at home lol, many cultures do this but I feel most Asians do. From my experience, Russians do too, but if Luda Lupin finds this thread, maybe she can say if it's a common thing/if her famiily does it too

I feel like I asked her but we are off track:runaway:

but anyway, yesterday, Saturday, a full WEEK later (over exactly 7 days as in 168 hours because it was at night like 10 pm) it started stinging again.

Like very badly

So I looked, and it's actually the bottom part of my toe was very scraped ... while the top was cut

actually when I got hurt, the scrape was what hurt more, like I was like "I feel like I'm bleeding" and looked at the bottom of my toe and was like "ok phew":coronawimwim:

but then I saw all the blood at the top

we had no antiseptic, antibacterial, alcohol etc., or any of those ointments/medicine like Neosporin either ... all expired

If you're asking why I didn't go out and buy, I WANTED to, I'm not allowed to drive anywhere in case I faint, and walking ofc same

currently I can only step on my heel on that foot and SERIOUSLY AFTER A WHOLE WEEK IT STARTS STINGING :face:

anyways got two bandaids on both parts and wrapped in cloth again so stuff doesn't get on it

It's like nothing, not a big deal, but just stinging again after 7 days is a bit weird so I do wonder about going to the doctor

But I can't go myself again like I said, and I'm worried my mom will be mad at me, she's busy enough as it is, and has her own health problems, and we went to the doctor a lot recently, my dad is on a business trip, my little brother can't drive

also she was yelling at me yesterday when it started stinging again and also complaining about how she has to do everything as if I wasn't hobbling around the whole house getting stuff myself and she won't let me do anything and yells either way

Thank goodness for the gastroenterologist on Friday tho:wimwim: she asked if I went to the ER when I told her, like I was telling my mom, people go to the ER for way less:face:

don't take me too seriously so I'll put this in a spoiler
Sometimes I wish an anvil would fall on my head because if it's not dead I'll be "fine" no matter what and I am so tired of my life

Don't worry tho, it's wtv:cat:

I'll make a postive lit update later today

Wdym, having to saran wrap something just to shower is totally so fun :uwu: Makes shower time found again. Totally.

As for the shoes question I’m not sure whether you mean Russians do or dont wear shoes inside. I haven’t been inside a ton of Russian houses tbh, only a few, but it seems like in the European part at least you don’t wears shoes inside, but usually wear slippers inside. My immediate family never did slippers (except in winter, my mom wears a sort of traditional slipper version of Russian boots) and I wear fuzzy socks. My grandparents (both sides of the family) wear slippers inside and swear by them. My brother and I didn’t want to wear them when we visited and you could see my grandmas brain practically short circuit :haylul: I say European part because I Imagine in some parts of Russia where its colder people probably wear some kind of footwear, whether shoes or slippers. But I can’t say, I’m fairly removed from Russian culture to begin with and especially from the Asian part of Russia because there’s a lot of differences. I would love to visit the Asian part one day though.

I really do hope you get better in all aspects though, I hope things look up and you get answers soon enough :kittylove:

Oh I meant like you guys also don't wear shoes inside, as in, like you take them off when you come back from going out

slippers at home still counts as "no shoes":suaeating:

Oh I've never been to either part of Russia, like my piano teacher is from Russia like you and based on what she said (and we always had to take off our shoes at her house and she wore slippers) it seems like that's a cultural or normal thing (for Russians) too

some Americans even wear shoes to bed, it's so weird to me:runaway:

but I mean I'm american too I just meant like culturally like you were saying with your family, and grandparents:icgyu:

I guess it could depend on part of Russia based on your thoughts but for now, I'm assuming it's probably cultural (as oppossed to most people here not taking off their shoes in the house):dubuthink:

I think it's more like comfort/hygiene/respect than because it's hot in terms of it being prevalent in most of Asia:duckflower:

ty vikki:kittylove:

Shoes to bed?! What?! :koyagasp:I thought in the house is bad enough but that’s beyond crazy to me. I do think most Russians do probably wear slippers only inside, not shoes, I’ve heard it before from others too along with my experiences.
