Yes, it’s cute, yes, nothing went wrong, and yes, the animals seemed to be trust each other. But I would still be more wary in this situation. Not to say they aren’t, you can see the owner pulling the dog back at one point. It’s just the idea that the puppy is young (it still has semi floppy ears) and the kittens are so defenseless. I guess the mother cat trusts the dog so I can’t justify being overly worried and they wouldn’t post a video of something went wrong. If they took proper steps to get the animals used to each other too then that’s good, idk my worry might be misplaced here

For the dog or cat? I’m assuming the puppy and mother cat already know each other, I don’t know for sure one way or another, but I would still feel worried when you involve kittens, since they haven’t met and are vulnerable. Maybe my dog has made me worry about new interactions with animals because we kind of flopped with the socializing part for her.

I’m the same way when I see these kinds of videos too tbh. Puppies, and really dogs in general don’t always recognize their own strength and while not on purpose can accidentally hurt a young kitten. Also imo a kitty mama should be left alone from other animals while the kittens are so young and just be completely focused on her babies away from the commotion of the household.

It's a good thing the humans are at least there, but I don't think you should leave babies (cats, dogs, humans) with older dogs (not like elderly dogs, by older dogs I mean like not puppies) (excluding puppies with their mom/dad (considering the dad is aware he's the dad, has puppies, the mom was pregnant, has started forming relationship with the puppies ofc, bc if he doesn't know it's just like a random older dog with random puppies) without supervision AND precautions/measures for separating the older dog from the babies quickly if necessary and for protecting the babies, until after much supervision and precaution, a relationship and bond has been formed for sure and the dog knows how not to interact with the babies as it might injure them, etc.

Even if the dog isn't aggressive toward the baby, they might not know how to properly handle/be gentle around them to not accidentally hurt them

and if not used to baby to and bonded with the baby yet, it'll be even worse, possibly aggression/attacks ...

there are so many cases but here's one, this baby didn't even live a week

I think it was a fairly good first meeting of the baby cats. Im sure the dog knows the mama cause he kept licking her. The doggie was jumpy cause it couldnt reach from the bed, but when the cats were on the floor the puppy always laid down and didnt jump around .

I have my fair share of bad instances tbh

I honestly just mentioned older dogs bc they are physically stronger and generally more aggressive (if they are an agressive dog) and bc I mentioned they shouldn't be left with baby dogs (puppies) either, since older dogs have killed puppies when left alone with them before ...

Tbh I don’t think a puppy could kill a baby human but a kitten probably. It’s generally not advisable to leave animals alone with new animals anyways tbh. The introduction should be gradual and supervised.

I don't know a puppy can kill another puppy (at least of the same breed, like a sibling, unless the sibling is the "runt" and this puppy is big) but human babies and kittens are weaker so prob can be killed by a puppy even accidentally if a puppy is trying to play and not "attacking"
(no specific instance article for puppy killing kitten but it seems it has happened a lot )

but I suppose I mainly separated it because older dogs kill puppies too, not just other species, and shouldn't be left alone with puppies either
