I feel like a lot of kpop fans get peer pressured into groups (1 Viewer)

Not deliberately but more like "oh, this *popular group* is performing/coming back, better check'em out". So a bunch of other people who aren't fans or not interested will just increase their views and buzz.

On the other hand I almost never follow any popular kpop groups since the 2nd gen, I wasn't interested in SNSD, 2NE1, Big Bang, BTS, BP, etc. They were never my cup of tea, so despite their increasing popularity I never even spent 1 second on them after becoming familiar with them and finding out they weren't for me.

I always check out what other groups release for the simple reason that I could be missing out on good music. You can be a casual listener, it's alright.

Though, I do ask myself if sometimes multi-stan actually stan all these groups or they just do it to look good (or out of pressure).

2ne1 were epic in my view.
Their songs were catchy and they had a great presence musically.

I was mostly interested in the gens of kpop when psy collaborated with hyunA.

I don't feel obligated to stan any groups but as a casual listener I'm definitely the type to get curious about groups if people say their songs are good and check them out~ always on the lookout for songs to add to my playlist :pandahappy:

I agree. But me personally, I don't really feel pressured to stan groups to look 'good' if I like the music, the members, the vibe. I'll stan.

Well a lot of people are very loose with the term stanning and if they like 2 releases they'll stan a group but then they'll unstan them the moment they have 1 comeback they don't like so :pandashrug:

The problem is that when everyone says the songs are good and I hate them all, I end up not liking the people who recommended them.
