My job is very physically demanding on certain days more than others and, well, yesterday was one of those days.
Firstly, because I got home so late I didn't end up going to sleep until 1:30AM because of the concert Friday night.
I woke up at 4:30AM to get ready for work so that already was a bit much. But whatever, it is what it is.
Secondly, this weekend is one where we are most short on staff. Therefore, we only have two people in the morning until 1pm and then we get usually two more, but since one of those two is on vacation this week, we only got one. He will work until close by himself, about 7+ hours alone, so it definitely could be worse for me.
Thirdly, everything in my shift was going smoothly. It was seriously busy, but we were handling it as it came to us. But then.... then the window truck showed up. The window truck with roughly 400 windows. Windows are not simple products that come on a pallet that can be unloaded with a forklift easily and taken to the sales floor, no.... windows are HAND-PLACED on the truck and HAND-UNLOADED. Windows are randomly put in, multiple purchase orders on trucks, and then when removed they have to be carefully checked off ONE BY ONE. So here we are.... 400 windows.... 3 bodies....
Fourth and last. I'm the weakest person in my department by far, so why was I one of the people hand unloading the window truck? I was sweating so bad. Me and one of my coworkers (a high school boy) unloaded about 96 in 30 minutes before I left at the end of my shift... so now I feel like I'm dead. I wanted to stay and help my coworkers unload the whole truck but I felt like I was going to die and physical labor is just not possible for me. My arms hurt a lot, and so do my legs. Each window has to be picked up one by one off the truck and taken off and placed on a pallet which we stacked to about 15 windows high (most of the time I couldn't lift the windows past #10, depending on if it was too large/heavy).
So that's my story as to why I feel like I've been hit by a bus.

400 windows are by no means normal for a window truck.
My manager, who has worked at our company for 10 years now, says the most he has ever received is about 120 at once. This was like a bad Easter gift.
