I have a notification that won't go away (1 Viewer)

I have a red "1" in my notification bell that will not go away.

Its driving me crazy. Any idea how to get rid of it?

It has happened to me as well. Whenever I click a second time on the bell icon to get to the notifications page, the annoying little number disappears.
