mnet def knew what they were doing getting her on the show
she's sung the n word a couple times last year during a few festivals that they for sure saw the outrage, I'm almost certain that they got her to have an easy target for evil editing

While I disagree wholeheartedly with what she has done, mnet is surely making it much harder for her.
What needed to be done is someone to educate her and talk to her about what she has done wrong so she can try and be a better person in the future.
Bringing her on the show to make her look even more bad, is not good for her and it makes mnet look just as bad as her for doing what they are doing.

Well, then someone needs to have a good talking to her about her actions. If she doesn't learn then, then she'll have no hope and it would be deserved.

so i've really been thinking about this and maybe it's going to sound a bit crazy, but bear with me.

apparently, now some (not all) k-netz are using this as an opportunity to hate against chinese people ... mnet knows exactly what they're doing and we're playing into their hands by giving them the reaction they want. what yaning said was outrageously wrong (though i'm suspecting now that it's scripted and they could be using her for drama fuel and potentially ruining her chances in the process), but they're playing it up and using it to garner outrage and more attention. they like the tension it's causing, even if it's going to hurt some of the trainees who weren't even involved just because they happen to be of the same ethnicity as yaning unfortunately, due to the current relations between china and south korea being less than friendly, the chinese trainees will likely be in for unfair, harsher criticism anyways. i could very well be reading too much into this, and i'm not really trying to defend her as she doesn't seem like the kindest person based on her past behavior, but i do think she's being used at the same time.

i feel like i was kind of blinded by protective outrage and forgot how much mnet sucks, how they screw over everyone, use people as pawns, and how tricky they are

She could at least hv stuck to the actual lyrics, instead of ad libbing her own; like maybe, instead saying "Never give up" would hv gotten some respect for her never say die attitude, instead of, to me, unfortunate implications when referencing a song titled 'Helicopter', is she saying the "You" doesnt get to take off? It's not so much the competitiveness i dislike, as much as the mis-read of the song about prevailing/grit n watnot (from a 5 minute reading of the lyrics just now). How can she sing in a gg if she doesnt convey the meaning of a song without handholding/being told wats the theme/meaning(if im right tat she thot this makes her tuf/look tough). She shd hv taken to heart Lisa's words in YWY/QCYN abt supporting each other if ur in a team (competition, even) rather than taking a tough stance tryin to impress with her attitude. She seems to hv no nuance or subtlety abt her from this instance, which if she wants to be an idol seems increasingly necessary to navigate the pitfalls of a survival show n the reality of idol life even after debut/successful career. Hopefully, she learns from this to be a slightly more situationally aware person, in the context of pursuing idol life, or just life in general. Maybe, maybe not.

PS i forget Yujij of CLC is competing on this show. Way harsh, dude. seems even worse in hindsight without any sense of reading the room/situation beforehand at all. Best of luck handling the ramifications/aftermath of this.
