so i've really been thinking about this and maybe it's going to sound a bit crazy, but bear with me.

apparently, now some (not all) k-netz are using this as an opportunity to hate against chinese people ... mnet knows exactly what they're doing and we're playing into their hands by giving them the reaction they want. what yaning said was outrageously wrong (though i'm suspecting now that it's scripted and they could be using her for drama fuel and potentially ruining her chances in the process), but they're playing it up and using it to garner outrage and more attention. they like the tension it's causing, even if it's going to hurt some of the trainees who weren't even involved just because they happen to be of the same ethnicity as yaning unfortunately, due to the current relations between china and south korea being less than friendly, the chinese trainees will likely be in for unfair, harsher criticism anyways. i could very well be reading too much into this, and i'm not really trying to defend her as she doesn't seem like the kindest person based on her past behavior, but i do think she's being used at the same time.

I would say that I agree with this statement. I don't agree with what she did and I found it cringey and uncomfortable and disrespectful. But I don't think she deserves hate or bullying. I don't think people have a right to take her and suddenly say that the Chinese trainees are disrespectful to the Korean seniors in the program. I know that Mnet loves to bait people into getting mad and talking shet just so that they'll tune into the show.

I ended up watching the whole episode and saw the whole context. I think it was blown out of proportion especially for anyone who thinks it's okay for her to get hate because of what she said to Yujin. She should apologize and realize that what she said was wrong but it doesn't give people an excuse to hate on her. Mnet likes to feed into the xenophobia that is very present in a lot of relations between Korea and China and Japan so it is not the best sign that in the first episode already that they decided to give so much attention to this moment.

Also after watching the whole episode, there are way too many moments of trying to skip past or diminish the accomplishments of the Chinese or Japanese trainees and it's already getting tired.
