people would stop using various social issues as "gotcha" cards
I honestly find it more insulting than straight up not talking about those issues because not only does it show that you don't genuinely care, but it also demonstrates that you're willing to weaponize other group's experiences for your own personal benefit
it's just... very selfish imo, especially when someone who isn't familiar with the nuances and only use the worst experiences as examples
worst is when it gets guilt trippy, like when insinuating that a minority's experience isn't valid because other people from the same group have had it worst

I feel like that’s valid to some extent
like obv being part of minorities, especially visible ones, does bring you a whole lot more problems to face, but to construe that as your whole identity just sounds sad and tiring
