How can fish be sold like that????? Not even in a separate filtered tank.
They were out in the open in front of the register just like that individually in their tiny soda can sized clear containers.

Also, things sold at dollar stores tend to be either smaller quantity or something that failed to get sold at a quality store. Perhaps these fish were just sitting in a tank at some store not being sold and thus got sent to Dollar store. This would track since stuff at the counter would be the stuff that needs to be sold ASAP.

Yeah that’s how bettas are sold, you can’t put them all in the same tank, they will kill eachother… I guess they would have to individually feed them and do their best to clean up their waste
