I want to know more about aespa (1 Viewer)

Like, what their story is, why they have avatars, get to know the members, why their fandom name is 'MY', etc.
I really like the Black Mamba MV and I also enjoyed Next Level too, so I would like to learn more about them.

is it connected ? short answer, usually yes, but not always. many artists are connected to the sm culture universe, which is why boa (who plays the "birth of the universe" or something along those lines) was seen in the end of the "black mamba" music video, and why kwangya is referenced in songs not by aespa. the smcu is all about characters and storytelling to enhance the musical experience or something like that. i think you'll be fine, even if you don't follow nct closely.

i like lore, but i think it's all a bit much, personally

story is so far just them fighting black mamba, which is like some dark entity with no visible appearance other than the smoke that appears when they take over a host body, as it corrupts their world
basically their avatars are their virtual counterparts in the ae world, which is kind of generated by what they post on the internet, a curated version of themselves if you will, the rest I think is explained well in the vocab list posted
I'm not really updating the aespa thread anymore (oops), but the link is still in my sig and I'd like to think the fun facts section gives a solid idea of what the members are like personality-wise
