I went to a specialty Asian store today (1 Viewer)

We spent a lot We got loads of things, everything from Pixan bean sauce to banana milk to frozen dumplings. Delicious thing. I’m now making a chicken that’s either Asian or Asian fusion, I don’t remember. It smells good though

Yesss, I love these being east asian in the US is hard sometimes though because their is not a lot of Korean cuisine where I live and I'm not as big of a fan of certain Chinese dishes which is what is mostly here.

Chinese definitely is more popular than others, in the store too. But they have a fair amount of Japanese, Korean, and southeast Asian too.

that's good, were I live its that or Vietnamese and I love their culture but lots of the ingredients my mom needs for Korean dishes the basic stores don't have and we often have to try and grow our own

I do also feel that with Russian food. Certain foods are only found at specialty stores and we don't have any that close to us. The one we have semi close also isn't the biggest and sometimes the stuff they have can be rather expensive if it's hard to find. I'm possibly going to try to make my own kvass ( a fermented bread drink) so we'll see how that goes

Oh man, I’m so excited for you. I love it when people go shopping at Asian stores for the first time because the experience is unmatched. I am in an area where there is a lot of Asian markets and grew up that way but I realized I definitely took it for granted when I briefly lived in an area that had no Asian markets nearby.

We didn't even know there was one relatively close to us until I was in college, and we've lived here since I was 5. The first time was definitely really interesting, but even now I get surprised by what exactly they have sometimes, mostly if we need an ingredient I've never searched for before. It can be a little hard sometimes though because not all of the foods are labeled in English, especially produce. So we sometimes have to google the differences between certain produce to figure out which of the long green stalks are green garlic or whatever
