I love watching live sessions like this where the artist is just chilling and singing their songs, and its completely live, live instruments, etc... i think it feels so much more personal for me then a lot of kpop performances that seemed so choreographed to the T. don't get me wrong, I love the dancing and extra effects that kpop performances show but sometimes I just want to watch chill performances like these, ya know?

I agree. Especially when its acoustic with just a piano or guitar.. Usually impossible to get away with vocal distortions when its stripped down like that. FYI You totally reminded me of this video though; lol:

There is something like that for k-music as well. They're called dingo. It's mostly for r&b solists though:






They do it for bands as well:






They can't do it for idols with chroeographed moves unfortunately but it's a blessing for other musicians. I would love to see more of these though.

right? like I really love hearing raw vocals like the ones in these types of sessions and i feel like i can never actually hear kpop groups vocals because there's usually a loud backing track, the vocals are breathy because they're dancing or its pre-recorded. its getting better when it comes to live performances but I really just want to listen to some good live sessions from kpop idols.

ive seen this channel before, unfortunately, they don't do many kpop groups which is kinda sad. but id actually love to hear kpop idols sing without the choreos, the vocals in some of the songs that have hard choreos are great and I feel like we never get to properly hear idols sing them live which is a bummer.

Yes! ive actually seen a few things like this from 2ne1, i wish other kpop groups would do these things more often, it would be a really good way to showcase their talents.

In their concerts, Red Velvet will occasionally perform songs where they sing the melody live and only the harmonies are prerecorded. These are among my favorite concert numbers.

Ahhh omg she always sounds so amazing live, I love listening to her live singing. She’s making a live album soon and I’m so excited, I always save vocal moments from her whenever I see it on twitter. This one is one of my favorites that she’s done recently. She was sick to, it’s crazy how good she sounds.

I also love this band version of Dean's what2do. It feels way more raw and emotive than the polished studio version—one of the best examples of lives sometimes being better than studio.
