i kind of disagree because kpop idols are literal idols and they are singers, it's always been like that. the real why you likely think this is because nowadays kpop groups are more performance focused, almost to the point where these groups aren't even considered kpop groups and could be called performance groups that sing. visuals, dancing, and charisma can only get you so far if you genuinely think this. if this is the case, then those kpop groups that received hate for their poor vocals such as illit and le sserafim would have not gotten any hate then. kpop idols are traditionally trained on singing, rapping and dancing. also a lot of kpop fans can see right through pitch studio correction. yeah it's good to have charisma and stuff and visuals, but at least having the basics down of singing and stuff is important. at end of day, these kpop idols make music for us, they make sikh covers, they have albums on streaming services and etc.
