So I would also remove the introduction of Christianity from my country (UK) - the last pagan king of England was King Penda of Mercia who died at the battle of Winwaed in 655AD. It would have been interesting if he had won that battle and gone on to be the first Anglo-Saxon king to unite England. We might be worshipping Woden and Thunor (our versions of Odin and Thor) instead.

no colonization would have been nice, but i don't see how india wouldn't have been colonized tbh. if not the british, then certainly the portuguese (who colonized goa anyway). or the french (who colonized puducherry and other regions anyway). or maybe the dutch. they too were here. our country always had lots of spices (which is what the european colonial powers first came for - and still can't handle in their food anyway). additionally, i simply cannot imagine an india that hadn't gone through colonization tbh.

but you know, there is something i would delete from our country's history in a heartbeat. it was anyway a result of colonisation, but i'd still change it. the partition. so many lives lost, so many atrocities committed. and people today still live with the trauma of partition. many have never gotten the chance to see their hometowns one last time before passing away. it's affected my family too, and i know many others whose families were affected. so yeah, that's what i would change.

The feel on this thread is what I'd change to make things better. History may have taken so many different routes that it's impossible to say. However, I'd make the Spanish–American War disappear. I think it's more likely that we'd be much better now if we had remained a Spanish colony.
