I would also tell her to calm down, relax, and understand that the world doesn't get better as you age. Just take a deep breath and hang in there.​

I'd apologize first for not seeking help. She's not crazy, that "weird" thing is called a trigger and it doesn't make her weak. Just because her experiences and how she thinks is different from everyone around her doesn't mean she's wrong or broken.
