as we all know, Kep1er said they were disbanding this month, so that's one ult gg out the window... and then we have Twice, my ULT OF ULT OF FREAKING ULT GG. So, unless Kep1er changed their minds and unless Twice really is sticking together (which I'm kinda doubting now that we saw Sana's reaction at their final concert), then I'll have had two of my ults disband in the same year. That's kinda depressing, if you ask me.

I think that's something one always has to keep in mind that all GROUPS (especially GG) disband or go on long hiatuses eventually

in the entire history of kpop GG less than 10 groups have had all members renew with the same company that they started with. The popular ones stay around for a tad longer since their brand is worth it while the less successful ones don't even make it to 7 years.

I think Twice won't officially disband. Assuming one or more members leave JYPE, they'll go the SNSD route: technically not disbanded, but you shouldn't count on anything beyond anniversary releases.

Not even kpop specifically, but groups, more broadly. Doing the band thing for decades at a time, especially at Twice's release schedule, is exhausting. And really turning over their entire life to their work, and most people have other things they might want to do eventually (have a family, travel, explore other aspects of themselves, etc.).

Even the idol-like groups I can think of who technically stayed together (like Backstreet Boys) eventually slowed down by a lot.

There has been zero official news about Twice's contracts. Just a lot of rumors.

If I know anything about them, it's that they will stick together. Some members might leave JYPE, but I don't see anyone permanently leaving Twice.

Individual activities will increase, group activities will decrease, but Twice will remain.

So don't let yourself spiral into a doom cloud. I'm optimistic, and will continue to be so until we get official news.

I think that's the main thing that differs groups (generally and even more so within kpop) and individuals is that for groups especially at debut that the group matters more than the individual and therefore everything is centered around the group (sometimes to the detriment of the individual). Whereas the individual only has to care for themselves and their own schedules and often much more freedom than the group

Let me tell you as someone who's followed Twice since the beginning; they do not want to break up and there's an extremely low probability that they will so rest easy on that. As others have mentioned though it's likely that they might reduce activity, "Individual activities will increase, group activities will decrease, but Twice will remain." as Horizonshard said sums it up really well. It could be a good thing as it would allow us to get to know the members even more personally and we'll still see all of them - just not all at once as often as before.

If and when members start to leave the company it will likely be a gradual process, in-house variety like TTT will go first but we'll still get comebacks. (Personal YouTube's might open up instead) Then the comebacks will be fewer and turn into reunions but hopefully by then you will be prepared.

It is sad but as Selfmate said very well nothing lasts forever and we're lucky that Twice is in a position to do what they want (I'm sorry about Kepler though, I didn't know them!), what I would suggest is checking out some other GGs from JYPE, not to replace Twice but just to fill the hole a bit and maybe you'll grow to love them in time.
For me what I do and have always done is channel my love into the members as people, that doesn't make it less sad when I see less of them but it allows me to be simultaneously happy for them having the opportunity to do what they want even if I don't get to be around for it. TLDR; As cheesy as it sounds I genuinely want them to be happy more than anything else, god knows they deserve it after working so hard all this time and even saving my life once.

On that note we should remember that just because we don't see them together doesn't mean they aren't, they'll still be a family with the means to see each other as often as they'd like.

Ik that's sad,
For me I've watched Twice and Kep1er since I was young, and they became my fav of all time, but as time passes, there are some things we have to accept because everything doesn't remain the same, if we can't to anything...

100%. It makes sense why idols would want to have more room to do their own thing, especially after years and years together.

Just having a smidge more freedom over their own schedule would probably be a big relief.

For Twice, I do not see any reason to assume anything more than a SNSD(ot8), Red Velvet like situation.
Something like Fromis or Apink seems less likely just because there is such value in full group comebacks.

Kep1er is hard but, they already did what no other produce group did in reupping before. So they were on bonus time.

It sounds like Twice isn't really planning to disband, so it's important to keep a positive mindset!

It's a bit disappointing to see so many people giving up on Twice like that.. they really do not dserve that!

People said the same things before the original extension and it turned out to be all wrong back then too!

a lot of the times they don't have that freedom until granted by their companies and their companies will not grant their freedoms until such times as they "prove" themselves financially
