The threat of a pandemic lingers in the back of my mind constantly.
I don’t know who I should believe-that all of it is overplayed or that it is a real danger.
Honestly, I’m terrified and I don’t know what to do.

well it is a danger, but more people die every day because of regular flu, so media is playing with us a little

We can't be sure. The best thing to do is to take precautions and not worry too much.

Don't worry too much, it's completely preventable and even curable unless in very extreme cases.

So far, it hasn't spread to the Western world much, and the precautions you need to take are very basic. Wear a face mask when going outside, esp to public places. And wash your hands regularly, preferably with a handwash containing alcohol.

If you live in the west you're probably okay to be honest. It's not a good situation but the fear tends to come from the fact that it's new and less known. Many other diseases are more dangerous in the west right now like the flu.

Coronavirus? I hear from the non-alarmists that the seasonal flu is worse than it, and almost all the fatal victims are either children or elders chronically ill. Take precautions and strenthten your immune system; and you'll be fine.

It's not something to freak out over and run off to the mountains to become a hermit but it's not something to be careless about either since it does spread quickly and we can't be sure how dangerous it is exactly.

Most countries have worked on quarantining it so unless you live in one of the countries like Korea who still allow people to fly to China apparently then you should be good but you can always wear a mask and make sure to clean your hands.

to put things in perspective, China is the country with most infections and that includes 0.00008% of it's population. Nothing to worry about.

I'm bit worried about it as well, but it's not rly pandemic level yet and world survived swine flu just alright so this probably won't be that different.

I think its good to take some precautions like not to travel areas which has lot of infections and just in general try to prevent it like flu- don't be around people who are sick too much, wash ur hands etc. I'm not sure about face masks though since although they are popular in Asia especially now in my country from press to goverment has been saying they only protect others from you not you from others

I'm still worried, and I hope my country would do more, but it has been overblown a bit.

it mostly only kills old people and people with weak immune system. just like the normal flu, and soon there will be a vaccine, don't worry too much just be cautious.

stay away from crowded places, wear mask, don't touche your face and clean your hands more often.
