Is it important for you to be emotionally connected to your bias group? (1 Viewer)

For me, it's the defining factor of what makes me stan a group.
If I have an emotional connection to a group then I am way more likely to stan them.
Emotional connection being like, oh i think the members are really cool and i want them to succeed, i think they're good people etc. It is the strongest usually if you have been with a group for a long time or you have seen them go through a lot of tough things.

obviously you can't judge them 100% just based on what they present publicly but that's the chance i tend to take when i stan groups. if they turn out to be bad people then i unstan simply like that.

I think yes. like not THAT important, the more important is still music, but I do invest a lot of time into proper stalking :D so why would I want to stalk jerks :D

Of course. There are groups I like their music but don't stan because I'm not emotionally invested. That being said if you have amazing music I'm more likely to look into you and get invested

Yeah. It'd feel weird stanning a group if I didn't have some sort of connection with them.

I know that as fans we'll never know what's beneath the surface of them, but I still think that there's some genuine idols out there

Yeah, totally - but also activeness, how many members I vibe with, and ofc the music. Like, I like Nu'Est's music, but I don't really vibe with most of the members, so I don't stan them.

honestly no, not in the slightest. all i care about is if i like their music. sure i prefer to think they're mostly good people, but the last time i felt like that with a musician i listen to it didn't end well (spending months crying after someone i admired for almost 10 years had passed away was when i realised none of that "emotional connection" thing is worth it for someone i'll most likely never meet)

I came to say a similar thing. I mean, my definition of stanning involves having a strong emotional connection to the group for me to decide I stan it.
