Is it Wrong to refer to Idols by their Real name instead of their Stage name(if they have one)? (2 Viewers)

I use them pretty interchangebly but if I would ever meet them in person, I would probably use their stage names.


I know it is pretty rude but I've seen lots of videos where Korean fans will shout 'Kim Taehyung' or 'Park Sooyoung' in front of the idols. No one seems to find it impolite though...

Yes, and sometimes the members actually appreciate it like Siyeon from Dreamcatcher. She once said that she was impressed that International fans can say her name correctly.
I think it's a matter of saying it right and not misspelling it or saying it wrong, I believe that is mainly the issue.

Full name is relatively okay, if last name is included especially since they have no titles. For example, I address my Korean guests in hotel as "guest-nim", never Mr. Lee or similar. You use first name only with family members younger than you and friends. But since idols are supposed to be our friends I guess people think it's okay. Even on reality shows you'll hear -ssi attached to the end of the name.

yeah some are really awkward. Like YG suddenly giving stage name years after debut to Winner and iKONN which makes no sense

I never use Winner stage names. I stan since their debut so it would be weird for me to do it.

And for the others idols I use both actually and never really think about it before.
