Perhaps separate BG and GG raffles? Also true randomization in mathematics does actually exist. RNG's aren't truely random. To truly randomize it requires a natural input.

Tom Scott does a good job of breaking it down.

Do you think the randomizer we use researches the gender of the group/soloist and decides it likes men more? :susPepe:

Just based off statistics and how big BTS is, how many more boy groups there are and how crazy BG lovers are it's likely that the randomizer you use has become sentient and is sexist toward boy groups. :taesip::yes::blegh:

Okay I actually did my own maths for the Legendaries using my spreadsheet and while this is only unique legendaries so it doesn't include all the duplicates however it comes out to 68 boys and 58 girls which puts the girls at 46% which means the boys were actually behind until the past couple of raffles :pandatea:
interesting :passcodea: so that means prior to this year, slightly more girls got pulled or it was rather equal.

Even adding in the duplicates minus the event Mina Legendary it comes out to 79 Boys and 61 Girls for 43% of girls so it was definitely either around what it should be or Girls were in front prior to the disparity in this years raffles

Like I said, it's random. The fact that lots of male artists were pulled is no indication of the future :susPepe: Not now, not back then

It just depends how you set it up, e.g. if you create 2 pools (one for bg and for gg) and randomly pull 2 cards out of each pool per raffle, you would always end up with 2 bg and 2 gg cards, while its still random

Or as there are 2 raffles per month, make one with BG cards only and one with GG cards only

I understand this will probably not work with how things are setup currently and those were just quick ideas, but I still think there could be ways
i guess, but what about co-ed groups for example?

anyway, this actually did get me thinking so i crunched the numbers. we have 244 bg rares vs 218 gg rares, and then 6 co-ed rares. 53% chance for bg's being added to the raffle vs 47% for gg's, i think that's reasonable tbh. when you analyze the raffle results like you have then it can seem unfair, but a script that randomizes a bunch of artists without knowledge of the genders attached to those artists can't be biased when the odds are pretty much 50/50.

humans are just wired to look for patterns, so no matter how many different raffle pools we add and how we split the decks it will never seem balanced because we'll keep finding patterns. for example, soloist kang daniel has 4 legendaries out while other soloists like wendy and yongguk who were released in the same rare batch don't have a single one. it seems awfully suspicious right? but the program doesn't remember which artists it pulled in the past because it's not tasked to keep track of that information, and it doesn't know the relation between the kang daniel cards because they're all stored without a defined relationship, under completely random numbers. the generator just happened to land on those exact numbers that we labelled as kang daniel cards.

sure, but then how would separating bg and gg improve randomization? if the gg raffle then appears to favor certain gg's over other gg's should we start separating the groups by member amounts as well? how do we decide that it's fair?

Obviously the only answer is Kang Daniel hacked the randomizer. Clearly :sanapray:

thank you for the explanation, I got a better understanding of everything now! :pandaangel:

It’s sometimes interesting when you do the math behind smth and come up with an intelligent analysis or observation
