It's really not that deep, Drew. People are simply expressing themselves through dance, as dance is an art form.

I love watching dance groups do covers a few days or a week after the artists' MV's drop, especially if they're gender bending ~ guys doing girl group covers, or the reverse, along with solos.
I always wonder how long they take to memorize the choreographies. It's always amazing and awesome to watch.

For me as a viewer, who knows nothing about dancing, all of them crush it!

And when you watch some artists' reaction videos to dance covers, they feel the love and support from the dance groups and realize the impact they have made on the dancers for them to spend time learning the choreographies.

I like watching the KPOP in public dances and a lot of the dance teams on YT are very fun to watch because they have great energy.

I wouldn't watch an individual do a KPOP cover, but it definitely takes confidence to be able to put themselves out there, and I respect that.
