It looks like they are going up again Astro and Golden child who have both got way more sales and views than them.

As you can see, dreamcatcher has done well, but both astro and Golden Child have outsold them by a lot.

And if we're talking about views, again, Dreamcatcher have got their most views in the shortest amount of time for them but they still come off way too short.

The only thing Dreamcatcher has going for them is their International fanbase but that's not any good for Korean music shows.
I think Dreamcatcher is the only group that has achieved as much as they have without getting a music show win in Korea.

I think the original 5 members updated their contracts when Minx revamped into Dreamcatcher in 2017. Thus they don't have contract renewal for a few more years.

I've not seen any recent news/rumours about any renewal anyway so I'm guessing that's the case, that all DC members are under the same contract which is January 2017-2024 (basing this on some info a while back). Unless it's a 5 year contract and not a 7 and therefore we might hear something next year.

You know, Dreamcatcher have been going for 4 and a half years now, it's soon to be 5.
It's also probably 7 years. If it's 5, then they would have to renew their contracts soon because I don't want them to be another Gfriend and disband soon.

I'm convinced Source Music's merger/partnership ruined GF.


But Happyface have been doing right by DC and DC are pretty much the biggest artist/asset of the company. And with DC's continued success it would be a very strange thing for the members not to renew early next year if they are on a 5-year contract. I'm not expecting any unpleasant surprises as far as DC are concerned so I'm very hopeful. Still, I'm hoping they are on a 7-year contract and that more good things will come DC's way in the next few years so that they continue as a group together.

kinda accepted general wisdom is what ever the set up with HYBE was to be they hated it . most of the girls went out of their way to say great things about source..

Yeah, it was weird.
Also, HYBE might not have been ready to take on a GG yet, plus Gfriend wasn't their own GG, so that could be it.

It happens although Dreamcatcher just seem to have the worst luck when it comes to planning comebacks as they seem to run into someone just strong enough to block them no matter where in the year it is.

It's hard to know exactly what happened with Gfriends contracts as they were meant to debut earlier than they did so it could be possible for some reason they signed in May 2014 which is how things lined up.

I do think though that Soumu probably didn't say anything about the negotiations happening because they just thought the members would resign and there would be no worry and then Hybe got involved and instead this is the outcome we got.
