JYP’s statement is sketchy as hell. Jae is on twitch as I type and explained the situation. From his own statement and words now, it seems like he’s just the first member to escape JYP.

The thing about Twice is JYP has made sure the girls entire brand is Twice by not really trying to give any of them their own momentum even when they had popular moments like Sana and Tzuyu they were just left to cool off.

That being said though I do feel like there's a chance at least some members want to get out but unless JYP tries to force their hand and say all of Twice or nothing it's hard to picture them all going the same way and if it'll end Twice that could give JYP negotiating power as some do seem comfortable in the group

Apart from 2PM even the males haven't been great honestly like the rumour with Got7 was that JYP said all of them or none of them so they all just left instead of being able to re-sign a couple potentially which is crazy if that's true

yea i forgot that, in my head they resigned.

Part of his problem is the kids very rarely build a brand for each member unless it is just a few focus members.

The 2 pm members had more of an induvial presence, but even that was mainly Nich and Tac.

When Twice was Nuclear they had to be getting offers. Now if they f up a few like say sm with Seohyun but there are still many more its understandable. But i do not recollect anything other than the weekly idol gig for a single member.

Yeah members don't really get opportunities which on one hand you could say prevents a particular member outshining the others but on the other a member being very popular is good for the longevity of a group as they'll stay in the public eye longer.

The other thing is not giving people opportunities can end up frustrating them and they'll be more likely to leave and get those opportunities as a result versus JYP seemingly trying to use that to make it more likely Twice re-signs

Jae said he signed an NDA due to the other members still having contracts (til September presumably) but also said he’d already spoken to the other members about it, and will join up with them once they’ve all been discharged.
