Last August I took the shinkansen from Tokyo to Hiroshima and I went out of my way to get a right side window seat because you were supposed to be able to see Mt Fuji, I was looking out the window the whole time and I double checked google maps to know exactly when I was in range but in the end I reached my destination without (knowingly) seeing it.

Mt Fuji only has the iconic snow-capped peak during a certain time of year and that route is literred with mountains and hills so I'm sure I did see it but I just didn't know which one it was, I was sure I'd be able to distinguish it's iconic shape when I saw it but alas. Still makes for a semi-funny story though I guess.

For all I know it's in one of the pictures I took.
