KPOP QUESTION: Are the Jung sisters still as hated? (1 Viewer)

Ok, fair enough, hated might be a big word for this. But this morning I came across some Quora kpop questions concerning "most hated idols" and Jessica Jung was featured several times. Apparently she wasn´t doing her job right, had horrible personality, blamed everything on the SNSD leader, got herself fired and blamed the company and the group leader for everything bad in her life.

Now, I have not continued to read about Krystal but someone had something negative to say about her too. I think the words "stuck up" and "arrogant" were featured.

Honestly, I know nothing about girl groups apart from bits and pieces about my two-three favs but even there my knowledge is vague.

So, let me open the old topic because I am currently watching a drama with Krystal and she is so pretty aha.

I'm not very familiar with Jessica reputation but over the years I've got the impression that most of SNSD and pretty much all of SM artists from 2nd gen and on have a slight "we are better than everyone" attitude. I've seen a lot of hints of snobbishness especially in SuJu, SNSD, f(x) and Red Velvet. But I guess that comes with the territory of being rich and famous and beautiful.

Krystal is my area of expertise. She has had attitude controversies during her time in f(x). But her problems were more about just not really caring instead of being mean or a bitch. It was obvious she wanted to be an actress more than an idol and it showed mostly during promoting on tv and radio shows. She was not a problem for 95% of her time in kpop. It was just a handful of times where you could clearly tell she would rather be doing something else and she wasn't trying to hide it. And all of this happened when she was 15 to 18. I'm not going to blame a girl of that age for being moody from time to time. People did give her a lot of crap though but on a list of the most horrible idols ever she wouldn't even make the list.

The Jung sisters for most of their lives have been young, rich, beautiful, and famous. That can go to anyone's head but they are not even close to being villains.

thank you for the insight. I can agree from a general point of view of an outsider that being so young and rich would probably get into everyone´s head. I have to admit that I agree about SuJu. Their music is fun so I listen to them here and them but generally speaking they seem weird and a their humour can be a bit too much. Sarcasm? There is a thin line between that and being rude.
But comments like these always make me wonder whether other fans agree or disagree. Glad to see they have some fans.

I like her in the drama, she doesn´t necessarily play the most likeable character but she seems to fit the role. I like her, she is quite natural and it is not like her character is horribly bad, they just kinda have a dumb relationship. it sounds like a romance? I can see her fitting in, she has a very pretty face. very elegant and feminine.

Both of the Sisters have a resting i could care less face, and can come across as super cold.

Both are really pretty introverted and both tire easily because of genetic iron issues, but both are hype dorks with friends.

Jessica for example was trained to be lead/ main dancer but when her voice got to main level, they had her back off and use her energy there.


Like Drew said they are both young rich, famous, Crazy pretty, and in the public eye from a really young age and for sure have scars we do not know about..
Krystal was doing adds as a child and that has often had less than great impact on the kids as they aged..

Jessica is going to get hate forever, she is the lightning rod for the break up of SNSD 9. Any honest sone has to look deep at the perfect image crafted for snsd and the events of September 2014 . Most hate doing that so instead they hate Jessica its easier than thinking the girls might be human and f up.

SuJu probably has had more controversies than anyone lol. I was actually watching an old interview with f(x) from 2010 the other day with 2 of the guys from SuJu. It was on "Kiss the Radio" and one of the members admitted to asking Krystal to marry him back when she was a trainee. So she had to have been 11 or 12 at the time. Maybe he was just playing around but those guys are testy. I wouldn't put past them to always flirting with the underage female trainees at the time.

I mean that is super weird but that could also be a joke. Hopefully that is? I don´t really have a reason to justify their actions, at least not asking a chid to marry an adult but on the other hand, I would not think of it as an unheard thing if a man said "would you marry me if when you grow up?" it is dumb but it doesn´t necessarily needs to scream abuse.

there is a lot of controversy from Shinwon being openly homophobic (apparently retweeting some anti-same sex marriage stuff) and the other guys shaming people who are overweight, though again that is shady. Saying about someone that he finds overweight people lazy and they need to take care of their health (Leetuk said that) is not exactly far from truth. the thing is they have no business to discuss anyone´s looks but that is another story. they should learn how to keep their mouth shut and one would hope they would learn it at their age, however, as you have said their arrogance is probably stopping them from doing so :D.

She does have a fashion company and its moderately successful. (its not Victoria Beckham level) Forbes has had her in the top30 or so worth of young Asians.

on the first anniversary of her departure from the group she gave a blanket 15% off for the day just because...

She just released the second book (YA fiction) about a girl who joined a 9 member group in a big kpop company ....
i think both have been best sellers .
but the last one dealt with the title character who also has a sister in a 5 member group in the company getting kicked out of her group.

Soo ppl are not pleased the past few months.

SNSD's sound has been off since then. They kinda have to force Sunny to cover some of her tone and its not really her range. The Tae Sic blend is core snsd sound.
