China is actually extremely cut throat capitalist in function, actually even more then "official" capitalist countries. The Marxist and Socialist talk is "bullshit" as one of my Chinese born professors said. Their just authoritarian so the central government tries to control the private sector like they do everything.

it depends, for the average person it is. However, China is much more corrupt in the higher levels of society because of the tight relation between government, justice and the respective industries. Kris is pretty big, from what i've heard (?) not sure, or at least has good, ehm, "links", so we never know ig.

and yeah pretty much, China is state capitalism, authoritarian right basically - with some corporativistic tendencies in China's case - since Deng Xiaoping and it has only become more cutthroat in their markets and competition since then. Xi Jinping has been more leftist but only became more authoritarian, imperialistic and nationalistic either way. So things have gotten even messier.

But anyway.
Aside from that, this doesn't necessarily mean that the accusations are true, however, this means that the accusations are at least not so easily disproven and they will finally proceed with the investigation. So let's see how this ends.
edit: tho some people apparently say/translate that the police did confirm some of the accusations, t's confusing, but oh boy
