there's adhd medicine shortage and I remember you said that you use one that is used for adhdI now understand why people resort to thievery. Not really. But I'd still prefer no shortages rather than a shortage.
Yeah that’s the one I’m talking about, I know there’s a general shortage with them which sucks.there's adhd medicine shortage and I remember you said that you use one that is used for adhd
also the cost is insane
$30 with insurance? At least last time it was $3 so it's going down?
But how come Birth Control is $0 with insurance and adhd meds are sometimes in the $100s with insurance
(don't come at me for the birth control thing but I think adhd medicine is more of a need than birth control pills if they are truly being used as birth control as there are other forms of contraceptives and isn't a need and yeah ppl will have sex but tbh that's not a need either and if it's for regulating hormones during puberty which is why I had it, I don't see why that has $0 and adhd meds are so expensive)
I don't understand why birth control medicine which is not a need is free when important medications are notYeah that’s the one I’m talking about, I know there’s a general shortage with them which sucks.
Tbh I think it’s hard to compare medications like that. You have to take into account generic vs brand name, whatever is used to make the medication, the insurance being used, how many months it covers, how many companies manufacture said medication, and so on. Like my moms medication costs $50 a month for something important too, but only one company makes the medication is question from what she’s told me so the price is higher. But I just think that it’s never been a question of more important meaning cheaper, more so how can companies make profits and can they get away with price gouging you which varies a lot with outside factors.
I need to remember what the name of the documentary was first ripI don't understand why birth control medicine which is not a need is free when important medications are not
but yes, we learned abt this in us gov/econ
the higher need there is for a medicine, the more pharmaceutical giants raise prices, because those people NEED the medicine to survive so will have to pay anything for it (and now I'm not talking abt adhd medicine, I won't die without it from adhd itself, just be hella incompetent and annoying, I know my privilege) I mean medicines for deadly illnesses.
They try to use a supply demand model and charge in the hundreds for a necessity for the right to live
there was a court case and some heads of this company using people's desperation and a cover of r&d to exploit and for their own greed have been exposed, through undercover research and kicked
I will send you the vid later maybe
Well birth control also is relevant to significantly more people than a more niche medication and even if you take out those who use birth control for exclusively protection against pregnancy and have just those who need it to make periods manageable I'd be surprised if it's much lower than a more necessary but niche medication. Besides, all that aside, it's probably beneficial for the government to slow the population growth, which is a frustrating reason but the government doesn't really care what we think a lot of the time or who's suffering generally.I don't understand why birth control medicine which is not a need is free when important medications are not
