The only movie I've seen that MAYBE does that is one that is legit meant for Christians and to preach Christianity but I haven't seen it in like a non-religious setting at all. (I cringe at it in that film alone but shit)

yea and theyre always depicted as dutiful, boring nuns until they take off their hijab or long skirt or whatever and suddenly they have all this newfound personality, theyre fun now or whatever lmao
dont get me wrong, for sure theres some girls who can relate and share that experience but its the way hollywood will tell the same story a million times under the guise of "diversity" when in reality its just about pushing western lifestyle and values as an ideal

i can think of a handful of movies, shows and books just off the top of my head lmao but yea its either a white savior plot or the hijabi is a stuck up, annoying ultra feminist/activist and thats her only personality trait, theres no in between

That's legit because people are pressuring these people to put diversity into their content and these people are like ok fuck it I'll through in this so they get off my back. They don't put any actual thought into the character, or any research into it either. It's just for brownie points and nothing more and that's why the rep is so FUCKING bad for so many things.
