3 or so years? This being of constant use as I require headphones in public

Jbl, sony and sennheiser
I use sony 1000xm5 and airpod max tho.
The airpods have mainly become my sleeping headphones cause they are durable and can handle it.

Definitely JBL (I have a Tune 500 and they're pretty good, I used to have a T110 and two other JBL earbuds, although I don't remember which model those were)

Can they play most genres of music.
Like I heard beats by dre and they suck.
it's distorted unless it is rnb and hip-hop.

They're pretty decent for most genres. Tune 500 in particular is great considering its price ($24.95 on the JBL website, $15 if you get them from Ross like I did).
