Appreciation My ranking of Vixxs Title Tracks (1 Viewer)

This is going to be the hardest group I've had to rate, there's a reason they were among my top 3 groups for the longest time. From my first discovery of them, which was actually thanks to shuffle on Spotify, they were already one of my favorite groups. So yeah this might be a little biased, not sure how much and I'll try to make it not at all ofc

Fantasy-10/10
Okay this song is so gorgeous, dynamic, dramatic, so many other things, but most of all amazing. I love how it starts slower and builds up to the chorus. The rest of the verses are great too. Ravis part is great, he's improved so much from debut. The ending is great, nice and dramatic like the rest of the song. A true masterpiece :taeilsob:

Chained Up-10/10
It's so fun and catchy, which may not be the first thought most people have but I think it's fun how they incorporated whispering so effectively for the songs theme. Their songs always so go with the theme which is one of the reasons I like them so much. I also like subtle changes throughout the song, for example, changing the chorus part to "I'm a slave" at the end, little details like that just get to me in a good way.

Dynamite-10/10
I know we have a few haters on here of this song but I really love it. It's groovy and catchy. I love Ravis beginning parts, and the instrumental is just great. Easily one of my favorite Vixx songs (though I say that about a lot of Vixx songs).

Eternity-9.5/10
The song that got me into Vixx. The chorus is really catchy, the verses are catchy, basically the whole song is catchy. Ravis parts are also great, especially when the vocals come it at the end all dramatically. The end is good, really makes it feel complete.

Shangri-La-9.5/10
I love this song and mv. The instrumental is great for the vocals, the vocals sound great, and the rap is nice. It's so ethereal sounding. They deserved to get more than they did for the song and MV.

Only U-9/10
It's so pleasing to listen to. It's definitely pretty memorable for this type of song. The chorus is my favorite part, I just love Leos voice and think it suits this part very well.

Error-9/10
The mv is what I think of immediately, but this is about the song. It's gorgeous ofc, I don't even mind the autotuned parts which is a miracle for me. It's slower than some of their others but also not an issue, It's definitely solid and if I didn't overlisten to it it may have been higher.

Voodoo Doll-9/10
I think this song is more know for the MV rather than the music, which I understand. I do think the song is very good as well, even the rap is better to me than their previous songs. The song is a whole journey though, which I appreciate. There's different parts to the song that sound distinctly different, but cohesive all the same, which I find to be nor super rare, but not super common either.

Love Equation-8.5/10
This song is fun. It may not be as dark or dramatic as their others but I don't think thats an issue. When it comes to how it sounds it sounds good, which is what counts to me. It's feel good pop done well imo.

On and On-8/10
Vixx's first foray into what they became known for. This song is great, minus the rap, The rest of it is solid though, this song never fails to make me want to dance. Glad they're acknowledging they need therapy after their stressful idol life too

Rock Your Body-8/10
Rock Your Body is so catchy and fun. The rap is kind of tragic, but the rest of it is great. It does give me a chuckle partway through because I hear "no way I'm gay" instead of whatever it is but nothing wrong with some misheard lyrics. At least it's not about saucy mommies like in Fire by EXID.

Scentist-8/10
My first comeback with them. I do like the song a lot, but that being said it is a little more boring than their top songs, less dynamic imo. Honestly though the reason I don't listen to this song is more to do with events that happened on the day the album came out that I don't like to be reminded of. That's why it's ranking highly number wise despite me almost never listening to it.

The Closer-8/10
This song gets shit and I think it's only slightly deserved. I like all the different parts of this song, though I don't love them. The chorus is slightly lacking, but not too much imo. Plus it still matches the rest of the song in my opinion. Ravis rap is good, then transitioning into a second rap bit and vocals is a nice transition. The end bit is personally just such a good part imo as well.

Hyde-8/10
The song is dramatic and dark, but it just feels less polished in a way than some of their later songs. Ravis raps were still questionable, though perhaps less than before. Like there are parts I like (the call and answer parts were fun for example). Don't get me wrong, it's still a good song, that's why it's rated so highly, but just comparing to their other stuff it's not quite as good.

Okay so hear me out. This song is actually not that bad. Is it as impactful as most Vixx songs? Not really. But is it still undeniably catchy? Yes. And if trying to compare this not to other Vixx songs but to other groups music wise it's pretty solid. The only part I'd say is lacking is the rap, Ravi didn't used to be as good as he is now, but he has shown major major improvement.

It's a little bit on the boring side tbh. The chorus is one of the more interesting parts, but there isn't much to save this song.
