BLACKPINK, slated to start a world tour in July, is expected to release a new album in June. [TEN Issue]
The K-pop top-tier group Blackpink (Jisoo, Jennie, Lisa, Rosé) is gearing up for a comeback. Given their upcoming July world tour, speculation points to a new album release in June.
According to a TenAsia report on the 9th, Blackpink is strongly expected to release a new album in June. Currently, the four members are coordinating their schedules for album concept development, recording, and filming. Multiple music industry insiders stated, Blackpink members have adjusted their schedules, including recording and filming, to prepare for the new album, and the album is likely to be released in June at the latest.
If Blackpink releases a new album in June, it will be approximately 2 years and 9 months after their second full-length album 'BORN PINK' was released in September 2022.
Blackpink held the 'BORN PINK' tour from October 2022 to September 2023, spanning roughly a year. The tour, held in 23 countries, generated $78 million (approximately 110 billion won) in revenue within two months of its start, setting a record as the highest-grossing concert tour by a girl group globally. The tour ultimately generated $330 million (approximately 480 billion won) in revenue, ranking 6th globally for female artists' tour earnings.
Following the tour, the members have been pursuing solo activities. Last year, Blackpink members signed exclusive contracts with YG Entertainment, focusing solely on team activities excluding solo work. Subsequently, they established their own labels and embarked on solo careers.
Jennie established an independent label with her mother, Jisoo with her older brother, and Lisa with a professional manager. Rosé signed a contract with The Black Label, where Teddy, a long-time collaborator, serves as the head producer, and pursued a solo career.
Rosé leads the pack in solo achievements. Her pre-release single APT. from her first full-length album 'rosie' became a global hit. Jisoo showcased her unique musical style with 'AMORTAGE', and Jennie with 'Ruby'. Lisa, consistently releasing new music, recently introduced 'Alter Ego' to her fans.
Blackpink will kick off their 'BLACKPINK 2025 WORLD TOUR' on July 5th and 6th at the main stadium of Goyang Gymnasium. The upcoming tour will significantly expand the scale compared to the previous 'BORN PINK' Seoul concerts, offering a special experience for domestic fans.
