yeah I saw that on twitter. They already had some people asking if the whole Aladdin theme was offensive (which most Muslim and Arabic people were saying it wasn't from what I saw). But yeah this is just stupid. Other groups have already gotten in trouble for this. Who is deciding these backgrounds?

It's considered offensive by many Muslims. Tourists have been deported from countries for the same reason.

I've seen a lot of muslims find it offensive to their culture. And other groups like Idle and IZONE have gotten flack for this too

unless someone explains how this is actually offensive
instead of just saying it offensive
it will just be people trying make drama
and i wont jump on any hate train
i ask people i know in real life who dont even like kpop but are Muslim and they dont see whats wrong

instead of just going of someone just something is so

and i did bit of googling just now

wasnt cause they were dancing it because they were wearing crop tops and short shorts

Nothings wrong with the MV so it makes sense she saw nothing wrong there but their standards are different than yours you know. If you want some examples as to what can be offensive you can take their clothes for example. Their clothes would not follow dress codes for many Islamic countries as they show too much skin in Taeyongs case with the lace and another member too (Lucas I think, I don't remember). Then as for dance moves, the body rolls would likely be seductive by their standards. Doing things like that in front of a holy place doesn't sit right with many muslims. That's not even counting the muslims who consider it insulting to dance and sing in front of worship places, which exist.

Mosques are sacred and taken very seriously by many practicing muslims, dancing, singing and generally just using them for a concept isn't appropriate at all.

It's not an aesthetic, drama or prop, it's people's religion and it's best to not toy around with it for profit

but there theme is Aladdin and this the castle from the film/book so i would argue it not even meant to be a mosque

That's an actual mosque though, there isn't anything to argue.

Not only that but aside from general structure, those building don't look much a like. They'd have been better off using the actual cartoon, a genie lamp or even any non religious arabic/middle eastern architecture

It doesn't matter what it's meant to be, it is a mosque. Being lazy and incompetent isn't an excuse for basically anything, let alone someone's culture and religion
Criticizing this doesn't mean hating on NCT or trying to cancel them. It's criticism and everyone gets it as deserved
