New ARMY vs. Old ARMY (1 Viewer)

After Proof was released I saw so many people wondering why they were re-releasing all of their title tracks. Having followed BTS since they debuted in 2013 I was honestly like shocked. I saw people all over twitter, tiktok, reddit, everywhere talking about why they didn't just give us new music. Why rerelease songs and only give us like 3 new songs??

It made me feel sick not gonna lie.

BTS recently said that originally they were going on hiatus after ON/Black Swan was released. Which another thing is like holy shit those lyrics if that was going to be their last songs before hiatus. Anyways...
Knowing that now, and seeing that they put in effort to give us nostalgic music and show us that no matter how long they're gone they care about ARMY, and then having those same ARMY complain because we didn't get all new music?!?!?! What is wrong with some people??

I could talk for a long time about how much it means to me as a BTS fan since 2013 to see them give us their old music as them now but I don't think anyone cares unless you're in the same boat. Following a group since debut and seeing them not only be successful but arguably be the MOST successful KPOP group in a decade or so, its bittersweet to see everything happening.

There wouldn't have been a better way for them to send themselves off onto hiatus though. The MV, song, the album itself, it was all definitely the best thing they could've done for us.

(If any of you argue with me I'm going to yell /j I guess)

As somebody who stanned BTS from 2013 to 2016, it’s that era of music from them I only listen to. If newer Army are dismissing them re-releasing songs from that era, then that’s really sad.

That's how I feel too, I really don't listen to anything like.. post DNA era? It felt like they were trying to say "we appreciate the people in the past who supported us until now"

Yeah I get you. Newer Army discovered them in the past few years, but they had fans back when in the time before that. To appreciate those fans too is really sweet of them, the newer Army can stay butthurt.

As an older ARMY, it was good to see them do an anthology album. It shows how they’ve evolved as a group over the years while still being themselves. The hiatus makes sense, although sad, as their military services are closely approaching

It is sad, but I definitely think it's the better idea to announce an official hiatus while they all go through that. I'd rather know for sure they're on hiatus then just sit and waiting for years?

+1 to all of the above. I lost interest in BTS after Spring Day and DNA. For me their sound changed starting with Fake Love and Boy With Luv.
